2021 Still I Run Ambassador Spotlight: Lauren Sheu

In a few sentences, tell us about yourself

Lauren is an RRCA Certified Running Coach, Mental Health Advocate, Speaker, Blogger, wife, and full time working mom. In addition to being a full time Project Manager at a large tech company, Lauren is the Owner and Founder of Running for Wellness, LLC. Running for Wellness was created to help others improve their mental health and wellbeing through running. Lauren coaches new runners, blogs about running and mental health, and volunteers at NAMI Keystone PA as a Mental Health Speaker and Family Support Group Facilitator.

Why are you passionate about running for mental health?

Running has been a catalyst in helping me to manage my own mental health and anxiety. In addition, my husband struggles with his own mental health condition so running has really helped me to feel my best so that I can be there for him.

Do you have a running mantra?

Just keep moving.

Where is your favorite place to run?

Anywhere outside that is flat!

What are you most proud of (running or non running related)?

I’m proud to be using running as a way to help others improve their mental health. I am proud to be openly advocating for mental health awareness so that others can get the help they need and deserve.

Favorite running moment you’d love to re-live?

Honestly, I would love to re-live participating in races. The energy of the crowd cannot be beat and I’m really looking forward to the day that we can do that again.

What’s your favorite way to recover after a run?

Stretch and then take a hot shower.

What’s one fun fact most people don’t know about you?

I’m passionate about personal finance.

Chicken noodle soup – it never gets old!
